Kalbe Consumer Health, through PT Bintang Toedjoe and supported by Komix Herbal, organised the launch of the “TEDUH” (Taman Edukasi by Komix Herbal) urban farming initiative on 7 May 2025 in East Jakarta, Jatinegara Sub-district, RW 013. The event was attended by 60 participants comprising residents of RW 013 and representatives from Jatinegara Village. Also present at the event were Mr Faqieh Insani, ST, Head of Jatinegara Village, and Mr H. Rohmat, SAP, MSI, Head of Cakung Sub-district.
The event began with opening remarks from the attending representatives, followed by a symbolic inauguration ceremony and the cutting of a tumpeng. The programme also included the handover of waste for recycling as a form of support for sustainable environmental management, and concluded with a tour of the herbal plant area developed within the TEDUH site. This initiative forms part of efforts to support the Jakarta Provincial Government’s programme in utilising vacant land to create productive areas that benefit the local community.
Through the inauguration of the “TEDUH” Urban Farming project, it is hoped that the community, particularly residents of RW 013 in Jatinegara, will be further encouraged to utilise land productively whilst increasing their environmental awareness. The presence of this educational garden is also expected to serve as a beneficial, sustainable communal space that promotes health for local residents.
