Kalbe terus perluas akses edukasi diabetes di Indonesia-Kalbe Corporate Sustainability-

Jakarta (29 July 2026) – The prevalence of diabetes in Indonesia, based on Riskesdas 2025, has reached 11.7% of the population aged over 15 years. In other words, the number of people living with diabetes has exceeded 20 million. This places Indonesia as the country with the fifth-highest number of diabetes cases in the world. The rise in diabetes cases is not only occurring among the elderly but also within the productive age group, driven by unhealthy diets and lack of physical activity.

In response, PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe), with its commitment to continuously improving the quality of life, has taken the initiative to raise public awareness of diabetes through educational activities, early detection, and the provision of access to healthcare services across different segments of society.

This initiative is carried out collaboratively and in an integrated manner under the umbrella of the Diabetes Total Solution (DTS) Ecosystem. The DTS Ecosystem integrates solutions for the prevention, detection, and management of diabetes across Kalbe Group products, including Diabetasol, Elvasense, insulin products, and other diabetes treatments.

“Kalbe continues to improve the quality of life through education and awareness to maintain health, particularly in the fight against diabetes. We are conducting educational programmes in various regions across Indonesia with one shared understanding: diabetes is the mother of many diseases,” explained Abi Nisaka, Head of Corporate Sustainability at Kalbe.

By July 2026, Kalbe had carried out education and early detection programmes for diabetes across different communities, including in underdeveloped regions such as Tapanuli, North Sumatra; Pandeglang, Banten; Bekasi Regency and Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java; Semarang, Central Java; the Special Region of Yogyakarta; Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi; and Ngada Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.

In implementing these efforts, Kalbe has also built collaborations with various stakeholders, including academics, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), local governments, and other community groups.

“Partners in DTS activities have warmly welcomed collaboration with Kalbe. Through these partnerships, we are able to expand our reach to communities and enhance awareness of the dangers of diabetes,” Abi added.

Concluding his statement, Abi emphasised the importance of improving health to achieve a more sustainable life.

“Health is a fundamental aspect of sustainable growth. This is in line with Kalbe’s mission: advancing health for a better life,” Abi concluded.
