Jakarta, 30 September 2026 – PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe), in collaboration with the Indonesian Association of Community Social Workers (IPSM), has distributed 75,000 E-Care face masks to communities affected by haze caused by forest and land fires across several regions in Indonesia. The donation program was conducted from September 1 to September 18, 2026, covering areas including Padang (West Sumatra), Palembang (South Sumatra), West Kalimantan, and Bali.

The initiative is part of Kalbe's commitment to expanding access to healthcare services while supporting communities facing health risks associated with haze exposure. In total, the donation benefited approximately 35,000 people.

Forest and land fires have once again become a national concern in September 2026 due to prolonged dry weather and low rainfall, which have contributed to a significant increase in hotspots across Indonesia. Beyond environmental degradation and biodiversity loss, the fires have generated widespread haze affecting public health, economic activities, and transportation.

Abi Nisaka, Head of Corporate Sustainability at PT Kalbe Farma Tbk, emphasized Kalbe's commitment to ensuring healthcare access for communities, particularly during emergency situations.

"Through our collaboration with IPSM, Kalbe has distributed 75,000 E-Care face masks to help communities affected by forest and land fires. This initiative reflects our commitment to expanding healthcare access while providing tangible support to those in need," said Abi.

The program also represents the continuation of a strategic partnership between Kalbe and IPSM that has been in place since 2022. Over the years, both organizations have collaborated on various sustainability initiatives, including disaster response programs and public health awareness efforts.

SFD Arie Wibowo, Corporate Sustainability Assistant Manager at PT Kalbe Farma Tbk, highlighted that the donation is more than just a healthcare assistance program.

"By providing face masks through IPSM, we aim not only to support healthcare access but also to demonstrate our collective commitment to helping communities recover and stay protected amid the challenges posed by haze resulting from forest and land fires," he stated.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Andriansyah, M.Si., Chairman of IPSM National, expressed appreciation for Kalbe's contribution to disaster response efforts.

"Supported by our network of Community Social Workers across the country, IPSM has helped distribute Kalbe's donations to affected communities. We greatly appreciate Kalbe's commitment and concern for those impacted by forest and land fires, particularly through the provision of face masks that can help people continue their daily activities amid haze conditions," he said.

The donated masks are E-Care products manufactured by PT Enseval Medika Prima (EMP). Through this collaboration, Kalbe and IPSM reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening community resilience, supporting public health, and creating a positive social impact for communities affected by environmental disasters across Indonesia.
