Jakarta (16 July 2024) - PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe) donated flu vaccines, as proof of its commitment to continue improving access to health services to the wider community. The donation of flu vaccines was made to the Indonesian National Army (TNI) as well as health workers from a number of hospitals in the Jakarta, Depok and Bekasi areas.
‘Facing the current uncertain weather conditions and based on the need to increase immunity, Kalbe donated flu vaccines for TNI soldiers who are at the forefront of the Republic of Indonesia's territory as well as health workers who are at the forefront to increase immunity,’ explained Abi Nisaka, Kalbe Corporate Sustainability Senior Manager.
Vaccination efforts are one of the things done to increase the body's immunity to certain diseases. Vaccination also reduces the risk of disease severity, even death in various cases of disease. The delivery of vaccine donations began in July 2024 and continues to this day.
Kalbe's good efforts have also received appreciation, one of which is from the TNI. ‘TNI soldiers in the 3T region have a very heavy responsibility as guardians of the nation's sovereignty. They must face very difficult terrain to uphold the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia, and health is one of the crucial things. Through this assistance from Kalbe, we are greatly helped and always pray for Kalbe to be at the forefront in providing access to health for the community,’ explained one of the TNI representatives who received the vaccine donation from Kalbe.
Kalbe Corporate Sustainability Assistant Manager SFD Arie Wibowo explained the importance of vaccination for maintaining public health. ‘We remember, a few years ago we struggled to escape the Covid-19 pandemic, and vaccination was one of the efforts we made. From the vaccinations that we continue to echo and do, we can finally escape from the pandemic. The vaccine donation provided by Kalbe, hopefully, can increase the immunity of TNI soldiers in the foremost, outermost, poorest (3T) areas as well as health workers who continue to fight for public health,’ Arie explained.
On the same occasion, Abi Nisaka also emphasised Kalbe's commitment to continue providing access to health, not only for treatment but also for prevention. ‘With a healthy body, we can create a strong society. In line with Kalbe Bersama Sehatkan Bangsa's sustainability commitment, we continue to provide access to health services for various levels of society. Not only treatment, but also vaccinations that prevent and increase immunity,’ said Abi Nisaka.
